Ambulance ^ Ending Explained

What would you do if the only way to save a life is by committing a crime? Is it worth risking your life, and lives of innocent people to save just one person? Would you sacrifice someone you love, for doing the right thing?

The above are the main questions around Michael Bay (Bad Boys, Armaggedon, Transformers) drives Ambulance, a fairly effective mix of action, chases and yes, even some drama. Now, if in the midst of the shootings, the betrayals, the medical procedures and the personal traumas you are wondering what the heck was going on, do not worry, right now and without further ado, we’re going to deeply analize Ambulance!

1 ^ What is the story of Danny and Will? Why are they brothers if one is white and the other is black?

Danny (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Will (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) are actually orphans. Or at least their biological parents did not take care of them, leaving them in the U.S. child protection system, where a cruel bank robber they identify as LT adopted them, more with the intention of training them as help for his operations, than as sons as such. However, the two boys formed a bond of brotherhood.

Over time, however, a difference developed between the two. When LT died – apparently in a situation where Will and Danny had to choose between them and him – Danny decided to continue with the business of LT and Will, decided to go to fight with the army, to change his focus on life. Will eventually married and started a family, with the problem that his daughter had a fatal disease, whose only hope was an experimental treatment not covered by insurance.

2 ^ What’s the problem with Cam?

As Cam (Eiza González) told Danny, when she started on Medicine School, she managed to complete 3 years, after which she started using. She lost everything and once she tried to get her life back, the conviction that she should pay for ruining her own life prevented her from having meaningful relationships, like the one she had with Collin Waters. Cam is aware of this issue, because within her phone contacts, there is a psychiatrist. However, she does little to nothing to fix this problem, because -as she tells Emt- on his first day, she doesn’t like to get attached to anyone at all. Neither with his co-workers, nor with his patients. The only thing she has in mind is to fully fulfill his tasks and his work, which she believes, is the only thing she can do to fulfill her karma.

3 ^ What was Danny’s plan and why did he need Will?

Danny and his army of thieves had the goal to steal 32 million dollars from the Federal Bank, in downtown Los Angeles. The plan was to subdue the employees, take the money, take it to Randazzo’s vehicle, flee and then distribute the money. Danny had reason to distrust his team, as all of them were extremely unstable and would not hesitate to kill him just to have a better chance to run away and escape. Danny needed Will, because he knew that he could protect him, and it was precisely because of that, that the Hell’s Doors were opened.

4 ^ What went wrong in the robbery? Why did Will shoot Zach?

Officer Zach was simply interested in asking out Kim, one of the Federal Bank workers, and his partner, Officer Mark, encouraged him to do so. Zach entered the bank, and realizing what was happening, he indirectly alerted the police who immediately closed the building. Zach, trying to be of use in taking down the criminals, attempted to subdue Danny, and Will shot him.

5 ^ Why didn’t the LAPD just blow the Ambulance’s tires?

Well, because then we wouldn’t have a movie. But hey, the script was a bit bold in trying to logically explain this gap. The police were trying to protect Zach’s life and to some extent Cam’s. Cam were in position in the bank building, after Mark’s emergency call, but once on the way, Danny and Will kidnapped her, leaving Emt out of the vehicle.

According to the film, the Los Angeles Police could not afford to provoke a situation in which two innocent people could die in front of the entire country, since the persecution was on national TV.

6 ^ Why did Will save Zach and Cam?

Will helped Cam do Zach’s bullet removal surgery, after which the internal bleeding stopped and she was able to stabilize him until the end of the film when he was treated at a specialized medical center. Likewise, Will also saved them both from being taken by Papi (A Martinez), who demanded them as insurance against the police. Of course Papi’s intention was to abandon them and use them as a decoy while they escaped.

7 ^ Why did Danny and Will go to Papi? What was his plan?

Because the police literally had them surrounded. The only way was to confuse the Police about which ambulance they were requesting and in the midst of the confusion to flee, now to another country, because they were already fully identified.

Danny offered Papi 8 million dollars, of the 16 he still had, to get a fleet of ambulances out, and to help get his own, painted a different color, for what they needed Castro. But Papi also added an ambulance with a bomb to neutralize the police. When this happened the brothers were to report to Papi, who demanded the two hostages, which Will refused. When Papi found out about the death of his right-hand man, Roberto, Danny and Will teamed up to take down the team of criminals. And run away… again.

8 ^ Why did Cam shoot Will?

Well, Cam already knew that Danny or Papi wanted to get rid of her, now that they were safe and sound, the only option she seemed to have was to run away, but if someone stopped her, she would be lost, so when she saw the door of the ambulance opened, the windows being covered by green paint, she didn’t realize it was Will, and she fired. Danny asked Cam to save her brother, while he was driving, until he understood that she was the one who had shot him. Now, with Cam’s help, the police have relocated the ambulance. Danny was lost.

9 ^ Why did Will kill Danny?

Desperate, believing that his brother was dead or about to die, and with the police surrounding him and without any support, the only thing left for Danny was to die, and the only thing he had to do was take down the person who helped foil his crimes. Danny planned to kill Cam and then immolate himself, but seeing that his brother was about to become a version of his father, Will – who was not yet dead – took his brother’s life, leaving Cam alive.

10 ^ What does the ending of Ambulance mean? What is the message of the film?

In the end, Danny apologizes to Will before he dies. The cops were willing to let Will die, but Cam, attending to her commitment to her patients, helped him up with the help of Mark, who also felt responsibility, as Will helped Zach. Finally, Cam gives him the part of the money for the treatment of Will’s daughter, and Will stays in the hospital, while Cam visits Lindsay, the girl she saved in the first scene of the film.

Danny apologizes to Will because he finally understood that it was his actions that brought him to that critical situation where they were both about to die. Cam understood that behind a criminal, there is always a story, a human face, and that a life is something much more complex than she believed. In the end Will is alive, but he will end up in prison, although with the satisfaction that his wife will be able to have money to pay for her daughter’s treatment.

But the most significant scene in the film is when Cam visits Lindsay. At the beginning of the film, Cam had declared that she could not be feeling affection, neither for the patients, nor for the colleagues, because they were just work. In the end, Cam realizes that the best way to heal is to let those bonds surface and emerge as naturally as they did with Will, and even with Danny, and if he could with them, why not with Lindsay or with Emt? ?

Even when we punish ourselves for not being perfect, that punishment does not have to be forever.

Ambulancia: Plan de Huida ^ Análisis y Explicación

¿Qué harías si la única manera de salvar una vida es cometiendo un acto criminal? ¿Vale la pena arriesgar tu propia vida, y la de personas inocentes por salvar a una sola persona? ¿Sacrificarías a alguien que amas, por hacer lo correcto?

Las anteriores son las preguntas con las que Michael Bay (Bad Boys, Armaggedon, Transformers) le da vida a Ambulance (Título en español: Ambulancia) una mezcla bastante efectiva de acción, persecuciones y sí, algo de drama. Ahora, si en medio de los disparos, las traiciones, los procedimientos médicos y los traumas personales te has quedado con una que otra duda, no te preocupes, porque a continuación y sin más preámbulo damos inicio al Análisis y Explicación de… Ambulancia.

1 ^ ¿Cuál es la historia de Danny y Will? ¿Por qué son hermanos si uno es blanco y el otro es afro?

Danny (Jake Gyllenhaal) y Will (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) en realidad son huérfanos. O al menos sus padres biológicos no se encargaron de ellos, dejándolos en el sistema de protección infantil de Estados Unidos, donde un cruel ladrón de bancos al que identifican como L.T. los adoptó, más con la intención de formarlos como ayuda para sus operaciones, que como hijos como tal. Sin embargo ambos formaron un lazo de hermandad.

Con el paso del tiempo, sin embargo, se formó una diferencia entre ambos. Al morir L.T. – al parecer en una situación en la que Will y Danny tuvieron que elegir entre ellos y él – Danny decidió seguir con el negocio de L.T. y Will, decidió ir a combatir a con el ejército, para cambiar su objetivo. Will, eventualmente, se casó y formó una familia, con el problema que su hija tenía una enfermedad mortal, cuya única esperanza era un tratamiento experimental que no cubría el seguro médico.

2 ^ ¿Qué tipo de trauma es el que tiene Cam?

Tal como le dijo Cam (Eiza González) a Danny, al iniciar su carrera en medicina, logró completar 3 años, tras lo cuál se dedicó a las drogas, por lo que perdió todo. Una vez intentó recuperar su vida, la convicción de que debía pagar por arruinar su vida, evitó que pudiera tener relaciones afectivas significativas, como la que tenía con Collin Waters. Cam está consciente de este trauma, porque dentro de sus contactos, se encuentra un psiquiatra. Sin embargo, poco o nada hace para arreglar su problema, porque tal y como le dice a Emt, en su primer día, no le gusta apegarse a absolutamente nadie. Ni con sus compañeros de trabajo, ni con sus pacientes. Lo único que tiene en mente es cumplir cabalmente con sus tareas y su trabajo, que cree, es lo único que puede hacer para cumplir con su karma.

3 ^ ¿Cuál era el plan de Danny y para qué necesitaba a Will?

Danny y su grupo de ladrones tenían como objetivo sustraer 32 millones de dólares del Banco Federal, en el centro de Los Ángeles. El plan era someter a los empleados, tomar el dinero, llevarlo al vehículo de Randazzo, huir y repartir el dinero. Danny tenía razones para desconfiar de su equipo, pues todos ellos eran extremadamente inestables y no dudarían en matarlo, si de eso dependía que ellos pudieran escapar. Danny necesitaba a Will, porque sabía que podía protegerlo, y fue precisamente por intentar protegerlo que se desencadenó todo lo que sucedió.

4 ^ ¿Qué fue lo que salió mal en el robo? ¿Por qué Will le disparó a Zach?

El Oficial Zach simplemente estaba interesado en invitar a salir a Kim, una de las cajeras del Banco Federal y su compañero, el Oficial Mark lo instó a que lo hiciera. Zach ingresó al banco, y al darse cuenta de lo que sucedía, indirectamente alertó a la policía que de inmediato cerró el edificio. Zach intentando ser de utilidad para reducir a los criminales, intentó someter a Danny, y Will le disparó.

5 ^ ¿Por qué la Policía de los Ángeles simplemente no le estalló las llantas a la Ambulancia?

Bueno, porque luego no tendríamos película. Pero bueno, el guión fue un tanto audaz en tratar de explicar con lógica este hueco. La policía estaba intentando proteger la vida de Zach y en cierta medida, la de Cam. Cami había acudido al edificio del banco, tras la llamada de emergencia de Mark, pero una vez en camino, Danny y Will la secuestraron, dejando a Emt por fuera.

Según la película, la Policía de Los Ángeles no podía darse el lujo de provocar una situación en la que dos personas inocentes pudieran morir en frente de todo el país, pues la persecución era pública.

6 ^ ¿Por qué Will salvó a Zach y a Cam?

Will ayudó a Cam a hacer la cirugía de extracción de la bala de Zach, tras lo cuál la hemorragia interna cesó y pudo estabilizarse hasta el final de la película en la que fue atendido en un centro médico especializado. Así mismo también los salvó a ambos de ser tomados por Papi (A Martinez), que los exigía como un seguro contra la policía. Claro la intención de Papi era abandonarlos y usarlos como señuelo mientras ellos escapaban.

7 ^ ¿Por qué Danny y Will acudieron a Papi? ¿Cuál era su plan?

Porque literalmente la Policía los tenía cercados. La única manera era confundir a la Policía sobre qué ambulancia era la que solicitaban y en medio de la confusión huir, ahora sí a otro país, porque ya estaban plenamente identificados.

Danny le ofreció a Papi 8 millones de dólares, de los 16 que aún conservaba para que saliera una flota de ambulancias, y ayudar a sacar la suya, pintada de otro color, para lo que necesitaban a Castro. Pero Papi, además añadió una ambulancia con una bomba para neutralizar a la policía. Cuando esto ocurrió los hermanos debían reportarse con Papi, quien exigió a los dos rehenes, por lo que Will se negó. Cuando Papi se enteró de la muerte de su mano derecha, Roberto, Danny y Will se unieron para acabar con el grupo de criminales. Y huir nuevamente.

8 ^ ¿Por qué Cam le disparó a Will?

Bueno, ya Cam sabía que Danny o Papi se querían deshacer de ella, ahora que estaban seguros, la única opción que parecía tener era la de salir huyendo, pero si alguien se lo impedía, estaría perdida, así que cuando vio que la puerta de la ambulancia se abrió, estando las ventanas cubiertas por la pintura verde, no se dio cuenta que era Will, y disparó. Danny le pidió a Cam que salvara a su hermano, mientras él conducía, hasta que entendió que era ella quien le había disparado. Ahora, con ayuda de Cam, la policía volvió a ubicar la ambulancia. Danny estaba perdido.

9 ^ ¿Por qué Will mató a Danny?

Desesperado, creyendo que su hermano estaba muerto o a punto de morir, y con la policía rodeándolo y sin ningún apoyo, lo único que le quedaba a Danny era morir, y lo único que tenía por hacer era llevarse a la persona que ayudó a frustrar sus planes: Cam. Danny pensaba asesinar a Cam y luego inmolarse él mismo, pero viendo que su hermano estaba a punto de convertirse en una versión de su padre, Will que aún no estaba muerto, le quitó la vida, dejando a Cam con vida.

10 ^ ¿Qué significa el final de Ambulancia? ¿Cuál es el mensaje de la película?

Al final, Danny le pide perdón a Will antes de morir. Los policías estaban dispuestos a dejar morir a Will, pero Cam, atendiendo su compromiso con sus pacientes, lo ayudó a levantarlo con ayuda de Mark, quien también sintió responsabilidad, al Will haber ayudado a Zach. Finalmente, Cam le da la parte del dinero para el tratamiento de la hija de Will, y este queda en el hospital, mientras Cam visita a Lindsay, la chica que salvó en la primera escena de la cinta.

Danny le pide perdón a Will porque finalmente entendió que fueron sus acciones las que lo llevaron a esa situación crítica en la que ambos estaban a punto de morir. Cam entendió que detrás de un criminal o un delincuente, siempre hay una historia, un rostro humano, y que una vida es algo mucho más complejo de lo que ella creía. Al final Will queda vivo, pero terminará en prisión, aunque con la satisfacción de que su esposa podrá tener dinero para pagar el tratamiento de su hija.

Pero la escena más significativa de la película es cuando Cam visita a Lindsay. Al inicio de la película, Cam había declarado que no podía estar sintiendo afecto, ni por los pacientes, ni por los compañeros, porque eran simplemente trabajo. Al final, Cam se da cuenta que la mejor forma para sanar es dejar que esos lazos afloren y surjan de manera tan natural como surgieron con Will, y hasta con Danny, y si pudo con ellos ¿por qué no con Lindsay o con Emt?

El castigo que nos aplicamos a nosotros mismos por no haber sido perfectos, no tiene por qué ser eterno.

Dirigida por el extravagante director británico Edgar Wright, Baby Driver parecía tener la fórmula perfecta para un perfecto desastre. Para empezar el protagonista es Ansel Elgort ¿A quién se le ocurre poner a Ansel Elgort a protagonizar una película de acción criminal? Sí, al mismo Ansel Elgort de Bajo La Misma Estrella y de Divergente, películas ciertamente nada atractivas para el público adulto y menos aún para aquellos que se precian de tener buen gusto cinematográfico.

Luego teníamos a una estrella juvenil de las telenovelas mexicanas como Eiza Gónzalez ¿A quién carajos se le ocurre poner a Eiza Gónzalez en una película de matones y asesinos y de esposa del mismo tipo de Mad Men? ¡¿A quién?!

Y si como lo anterior no fuera suficiente, también teníamos a Lily James, cuyas actuaciones más memorables han sido en Cenicienta y en Orgullo, Prejuicio y Zombies ¡ZOMBIES!

Pero al parecer el director sí tenía muy buena idea de lo que estaba haciendo y ya explicaremos por qué.
